The Great Hanshin Earthquake Orphans

A Black Rainbow

I drew a picture at the orphan's summer camp in Kobe, Japan.
I drew it with beautiful colors.
I drew with colors of blue and yellow.
I drew noon-time and painted it black.
I remember at night my dad who saved me from the Great Hanshin earthquake.
I have nightmares often.
My older sister always supports me emotionally.
At school, other kids often tease me and punch me.
However, I like playing in the playground.
I do not like to study at school but I do my homework well.
I would like my dad to be well in heaven.

Traffic Accident Orphans

To My Dad in Heaven

Dad! I loved you very much.
I wanted to play baseball with my dad but he died.
I want to meet my dad again.
When I look at my dad's picture I cry.
But I want to see my dad.
I want to call him "Dad".
But I can not.
"Where are you, Dad?"
Hug me again.
Wait till I go to your place.
Play with me again, Dad.
Dad!
Study with me.
Teach me to study.
Dad!
Why did you leave my three family members?
I was thinking that you were on a business trip.
Wait till I go to your place.
Dad!
Call out my name "Minoru" again.
I call you "Dad" and then I say "yes".
I feel really sad because my dad is not here.
