2017/03/31 [News]

Dr. Margaret Mungherera, a member of the Kenjin-Tatsujin International Advisory Council, passed away on February 4, 2017. As the Former President of the Uganda Medical Association and as President of the World Medical Association, Dr. Mungherera worked hard for the improvement of health care not just in Africa, but all over the world.

Dr. Mungherera was a strong supporter of Ashinaga’s activities and attended the opening ceremony of the Ashinaga Uganda Kokoro Juku on July 17, 2015. Dr. Mungherera’s sister Lydia informed us that until the end, she had been looking forward to attending the General Meeting on February 28. On the day of the General Meeting, Chairman Schweitzer praised Dr. Mungherera’s life work and expressed his gratitude and sadness at her loss on behalf of all the members present. Ashinaga will emulate Dr. Mungherera’s example of devoting her life for the sake of others and carry on this spirit in its activities.
