Assistant Director, Ashinaga Uganda
My first experience on the African continent was teaching physics for two years at a local high school in Ghana, as a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. Attracted by the warm personality and the great potential of Africa, I decided to join Ashinaga in 2015.
After joining, I engaged in supporting Ashinaga Japanese student’s activity and selecting interns from overseas to contribute to the internationalization of the association. In 2018, I was transferred to the Uganda office to work on the Preparation Year for Ashinaga Africa Initiative candidates. Working hard with a diverse group of colleagues and students enabled me to witness the growth of students and support their enrolment into overseas universities to be future leaders. I always feel like I have a very exciting and rewarding job.
