Lambert is a fourth-year AAI Scholar from Rwanda, studying medicine* in the Czech Republic. His ambition is to specialize in neurology. He wishes to become a neurosurgeon with eyes and heart determinedly oriented towards his homeland of Rwanda, and resolutely Pan-African. Together with other science, medical, and pharmacy students with African roots studying in the Czech Republic, he started a community of Africans and well-wishers in Hradec Králové, called Afro-HK. In his own words, he encourages other students to enjoy and embrace their roots: “Africans have a responsibility to represent our continent and countries no matter the situation. We are blessed to be inherited with such a beautiful continent. Let us be proud of who we are and where we come from.” African countries represented in their initiative include Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Botswana, Zambia, Nigeria, Egypt, Benin, Togo, South Africa – united under a logo and a motto: Ubuntu: I am because we are. You can find them on Instagram @afrohk.
