Dr. Alberto da Costa e. Silva was born on May 12th, 1931 in São Paulo. He is a Brazilian historian, poet, and former diplomat. He won the 2014 Camões Prize, which is named after Luis de Camões and the most important prize for literature in the Portuguese language.
From 1986 to 1990, Dr. Silva was the ambassador of Brazil in Portugal, from 1990 to 1993 in Colombia, and from 1993 to 1995 in Paraguay.
