President Nakamura Gakuen University Chairman of the Japanese Society of Psychosomatic Internal Medicine(JSPIM)

After graduating from Kyushu University’s School of Medicine in 1973, Chiharu Kubo joined their Department of Psychosomatic Medicine. From 1975, he engaged in research on immunity at the Department of Bacteriology of Kyushu University. From 1981 to 1983, he did research on nutrition, immunity, and aging at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in the United States. In 1993, he became a Professor of the very same Department of Psychosomatic Medicine at Kyushu University, then moved on to become the Director of Kyushu University Hospital for 6 years from 2008, and President of Kyushu University from October 2014. He has also served as President of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine and the Japanese Association of Psychosomatic Medicine and is currently serving as the President of the Society of Japanese Internal Psychosomatic Medicine.
