2022 Ashinaga Uganda & Senegal Internships: Applications Open

The Ashinaga Africa Initiative will welcome 49 selected scholars from 49 different countries in Sub-Saharan Africa to our leadership programs in Kampala, Uganda, and Dakar, Senegal, to receive academic training in their studies of interest, as well as assistance applying to universities around the world. Through education, Ashinaga hopes to empower its students to make the change that they wish to see in their communities, countries, and Africa as a whole. We are currently looking for a range of interns to support these students at Ashinaga Uganda and Ashinaga Senegal.

Job Description:

Planning classes and teaching Ashinaga Africa Initiative Scholars who are selected from sub-Saharan African countries, with an emphasis on improving their academic knowledge and skills as well as assisting with university applications.

※We are particularly interested in interns who can teach science courses, assist Japanese teachers, offer prior guidance on Japanese society and culture, teach other subjects, offer career counselling or leadership training.

 

Uganda Internship Details & Application

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Benefits: Round trip economy class flights to Uganda (from the same point of origin), monthly stipend of 650,000UGX, accommodation, one provided meal per workday, travel insurance, anti-malarial tablets, yellow fever vaccinations, pre-departure and arrival PCR tests and work-related travel costs

 

Uganda Internship Dates:

1) Preparation Camp: March 30th – June 17th, 2022

2) Study Camp Term 1: June 29th – September 2nd, 2022

3) Study Camp Term 2: August 26th – December 16th, 2022

*These are official working dates and exclude travel to/from Uganda

 

Uganda Application Deadlines:

1) Preparation Camp: February 27th, 2022

2) Study Camp: May 29th, 2022

Senegal Internship Details & Application

Location: Dakar, Senegal

Benefits: Round trip flights to Senegal, reimbursement of your health insurance (max. €100/month), a stipend of 25,000XOF/week, accommodation, one provided meal per workday

 

Senegal Internship Dates: June 29th – December 16th, 2022

Senegal Application Deadline: May 29th, 2022
