MOREIRA WILLIAM CHONGUIÇA

Moreira is a Mozambican born Pan African jazz musician, composer, producer, ethnomusicologist, and entrepreneur. He has released six albums and performed all over the world. He has produced music for a number of African artists and written music for movies and documentaries. He is Cultural ambassador for the Mozambican Minister of Tourism and Culture, he received the MADE IN MOZAMBIQUE seal, he was awarded SUPERBRAND status in Mozambique as an individual for two years in a row and received the ORDER OF MERIT from the President of Portugal for his contribution to jazz music in Mozambique. In 2017 he was voted Cultural Personality of the year by newspaper Noticias and Radio Moçambique. He runs a production company called MORE PROMOTIONS in Mozambique that produces the successful MOREJAZZ SERIES (now MAPUTO INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL – MOREJAZZ SERIES) concerts each year.
